ARE YOU SEEING THESE AROUND YOUR HOME?

We’ve received quite a few calls over the last couple of weeks about Asian cockroaches, and if you’ve noticed more roaches flying or crawling around your yard, porch, garage, or exterior of your home lately, you’re definitely not alone.

Asian roaches thrive outdoors in warm, humid conditions and are commonly found in lawns, mulch, leaf litter, flower beds, and other areas that hold moisture. This time of year, populations can be high, making them much more noticeable around homes.

One thing that surprises a lot of homeowners: Asian roaches can fly and they’re attracted to light. That’s why you may see them flying toward porch lights, windows, doors, patios, and garages after dark. They can also accidentally make their way inside when doors are opened.

What can you do to help?

• Keep leaves and other organic debris cleaned up around the home
• Avoid overwatering lawns and flower beds
• Keep mulch from becoming excessively thick or damp
• Seal gaps around doors, windows, and other entry points
• Consider switching bright exterior lights near entrances to less insect-attractive lighting
• Keep vegetation trimmed away from the foundation
• Maintain a pest-control barrier around the exterior of your home

The good news is that seeing Asian roaches doesn’t necessarily mean you have an indoor roach infestation. These guys primarily live and reproduce outdoors.

Customer called saying they were moving into a new home in a new subdivision, as they were walking around they noticed a bunch of spider webs, wasp nests and these two hanging around. They called us and we were able to get it scheduled for the same day service!

The home was treated and the problem is gone!

If you are moving into a new subdivision that is still building homes, understand that all of that construction is going to get the pests moving around and looking for a new home, possibly YOURS.

To make sure your home and family are protected give us a call and let us help you protect what matters most.
