Thought I’d give this one a little love and some backstory.

On Jan 21, 2021 I got sober after checking into a mental health facility following a 3-month long, complete and total mental breakdown. I thought getting sober would make life easy, but over the next couple of years my life unravelled and completely fell apart.

I wrote this song named “Healing” about two months after I got out of the facility.

If you’re on this healing journey I know how tough it is. I know that sometimes it feels like there’s no bottom to the pit. When the world you knew collapses it can be terrifying and full of pain and loss, but let it collapse fully and you get to rebuild it the way you want it.

You’re doing an amazing job doing difficult work. Remember to be kind to yourself and know that I believe in you and I’ve got a tremendous amount of love for you.

Sometimes my engine runs hot and I have to pull over and let it cool down. Sometimes I just crash out completely, but every time she gets a little more used to the speed and vibrations.

It’s ok to be overwhelmed and feel beaten down sometimes.

To me, googly eyes are like Frank’s Red Hot. I put that s**t on everything. This set is installed on my bathroom mirror to remind me not to take myself too seriously. And yes, I realize the striking resemblence between me and Judge Doom.
