As the saga continues, we are among at least 6 businesses on Maple Avenue that are on a route that has been deemed as an "auxiliary route" with the United States Postal Service, meaning we DO NOT HAVE A REGULAR DAILY CARRIER! For us that means we will go business days without seeing a mail carrier! We are a business that ships with items ready to go EVERY Tuesday and a large chunk of letters (mail) that goes out on Wednesdays without fail. Please keep in mind all of these items going out are time sensitive!
The service we use to determine best rates for our shipping is Pirate Ship and they have a feature that sends notifications to USPS & UPS that we have items that are ready to go. UPS is always on it without fail! USPS is a different story. Some Tuesdays come and go with no sight of our USPS friends, then about 8:00 PM on Tuesday or so we get an email notification stating "This email confirms a Package Pickup was attempted, but was unsuccessful, because the package(s) were not found." So they expect us to either stay here until they arrive or leave the packages outside our fenced in area or stuffed into our mailbox. Most of the carriers don't even come into our building to get mail, I was told, "if there is a mail post, they won't come in" and I should have the letters in the mail box. That is NOT GOING TO HAPPEN, I am in full knowledge of it being a federal offense to mess with the mail, I also know this neighborhood!
Look folks we are paying to ship these packages, I will not risk the theft of these packages/letters, nor will I stay here later (10 hours a day is a plenty) to accommodate their inability to properly service a business that is a paying customer of theirs. It seems that in this world of technology they (USPS) could have the person that has this part of the route on Mondays & Tuesday to do the auxiliary route then go on their regular route they are given a notice about the pick up from Pirate Ship.
Maybe I should go to the Margaret Avenue location and see what can be done,,, rest assured that I have made several trips there left notes to have a supervisor contact me, it seems the supervisors are too busy to contact me, yesterday it was the clerk I left a note with that called me later, I appreciate her reaching out, however she is a clerk and not a supervisor.
The folks that make the route designations are out of Indianapolis and no contact information is available to me...
