Redmond’s continued growth starts underground: long before framing begins. For larger residential communities across Central Oregon, early excavation planning helps keep the project moving from the first bucket in the dirt.

That means coordinating:
• Utility trenching and underground installation
• Roadways, construction access, and staging areas
• Precise grading for building pads and site circulation
• Drainage planning to manage water through every phase

When these elements are sequenced properly, developers and general contractors can reduce avoidable conflicts, protect access, and create a more organized path to vertical construction. Our team provides the excavation and underground utility support needed to prepare sites for the next stage.

In Terrebonne, OR, your project is only as good as the iron you bring to the dirt.

In Central Oregon, we know that hitting volcanic basalt isn't a matter of "if," but "when." While a standard bucket is great for moving soil, the High Desert often demands something a bit more specialized.

When the digging gets tough and the ground refuses to give, we bring in the rock hammer. Our team at Emperor Excavation is equipped with the heavy-duty attachments needed to break through the stubborn basalt that stops other projects in their tracks. Whether it's precision utility trenching or preparing a building pad, having the right iron on-site ensures your project stays on schedule without compromising on safety or quality.

Don't let underground obstacles derail your timeline. We specialize in navigating the unique geological challenges of our region, providing a one-stop solution for both residential and commercial excavation.

Ready to break ground on your next project? Let’s get to work.

Terrebonne, OR property owners and builders need to be aware of the "Five-Foot Rule" under the new Section R327 wildfire codes. If you're planning a new build in Central Oregon, this zero-combustion zone is now a critical part of your site prep.

This code requires a 5-foot perimeter around your structure to be completely free of combustible materials. That means no wood mulch, no shrubs, and no debris. As your local excavation partners, we’ve adapted our building pad preparation to ensure your site is compliant from the ground up.

When we handle your grading and pad prep, we aren't just moving dirt; we’re setting the foundation for a fire-resilient home. We clear the footprint and the immediate defensible space to meet these safety standards, helping you avoid delays with inspectors or insurance down the road.

Planning a project near Smith Rock or across the high desert? Let’s get your site prepped with safety and local codes in mind.

Terrebonne, OR : it’s National Trench Safety Month, and in Central Oregon’s dry June soil, “just digging a line” can turn risky fast.

When we’re trenching for utilities, safety starts before the bucket hits the dirt:
- Call 811 and confirm locates before any excavation
- Plan access/egress, keep spoil piles back, and maintain safe edges
- Match protection (sloping/benching/shoring) to soil conditions and depth
- Keep heavy equipment and foot traffic out of the danger zone

Whether you’re in Terrebonne, Redmond, or Bend, our crew trenches with a plan: so your schedule stays on track and your site stays safe.
