THIS IS WHAT GMC BRAGGED ABOUT IN 1979!

Watching this old 1979 GMC work truck video is like stepping into a completely different era of truck advertising.

Forget giant touchscreens and 360° cameras…

GMC wanted you to know about:

🌧️ Drip molding
🚪 Elongated door handles
🧰 Insulated pad under the hood
🛠️ Metal instrument panel
🚬 A conveniently located ashtray
🔩 Door hinges mounted with SIX BOLTS

And possibly the greatest truck feature of all…

☕ THE GLOVE BOX DOOR WAS WIDE ENOUGH TO HOLD YOUR COFFEE CUP. 😂

No fancy retractable cupholder needed.

Just open the glove box and set your coffee on it. 🤣

It sounds hilarious today, but I love seeing what manufacturers chose to highlight when they were selling a work truck in 1979.

❄️🚙 “DAD… WHY ARE WE THE ONLY ONES STILL MOVING?”

Picture it: 1983.

The snow is coming down. 🌨️
Cars are stuck everywhere.
Tires are spinning…

And your family just keeps cruising along in an AMC Eagle. 🦅

👦 “Dad, why is everybody stuck?”

😎 Dad: “Because we have 4-wheel drive.”

That was the beauty of the AMC Eagle.

It gave buyers the familiar feel and practicality of a passenger car while offering four-wheel-drive capability — an unusual combination for its era.

Today, crossovers and AWD vehicles are everywhere.

But more than 40 years ago, the Eagle was already combining two automotive worlds. 🚙❄️

Look closely at the wheels. 🛞

WATCH THIS 1957 CHEVY GO FROM CARTOON TO REAL LIFE! 👀

This is why I love digging up old automotive commercials.

It starts like a classic 1950s illustrated advertisement — the station wagon, the people, the luggage… everything looks like artwork.

Then watch closely. 👀

THE CARTOON BECOMES REAL. 🚗✨

Suddenly, you’re looking at the actual Chevrolet station wagon with the luggage beside it.

And remember…

📅 THIS WAS 1957.

Long before modern CGI, advertisers were finding creative ways to make cars jump off the page and come to life on television.

Nearly 70 years later, it’s still cool to watch.

🪟🚗 VOLVO OWNERS — YOU MAY BE USING THIS TOWEL WRONG. 👀

It looks like a regular cleaning towel, but there’s a reason the two sides feel completely different.

🧼 One side cleans the glass — helping remove dirt, film and smudges.

✨ Then FLIP IT — the microfiber side is for the finishing wipe to help leave the glass clean and streak-free.

The whole idea:

CLEAN ➡️ FLIP ➡️ FINISH.

🚗🇮🇹 OVER 50 YEARS OLD… AND THIS STEERING WHEEL STILL LOOKS LIKE IT CAME FROM THE FUTURE. 🤯

This is the Maserati Boomerang, and its steering wheel might be one of the wildest cockpit designs ever created.

Instead of a traditional dashboard setup, the Boomerang placed its gauges and controls inside the stationary center of the steering wheel assembly — while the outer steering rim rotated around it. 👀

Think about that for a second…

This was the early 1970s.

No giant touchscreens.
No digital instrument clusters.
No modern steering-wheel displays.

Yet designer Giorgetto Giugiaro came up with THIS. 🔥

More than half a century later, you can look at this interior and it still doesn’t seem ordinary.

TRULY ONE OF A KIND TO THIS DAY. 🇮🇹🔥
