Training Update 🚒

Liberty - Eylau Firefighters Nick Shirley & Ricky Steward have successfully completed their Hazardous Materials Awareness and Operations (Haz-Mat Awareness & Ops) training course.

Part of this training, the firefighters participated in a hands-on skills day, allowing them to apply the knowledge and techniques learned in the classroom to realistic scenarios.

This accomplishment represents an important milestone as they continue their journey toward earning their Firefighter I & II certifications. Their commitment to professional development strengthens our department’s ability to serve and protect the community safely and effectively.

Please join us in congratulating these firefighters on their hard work, dedication, and continued pursuit of excellence in the fire service.

🇺🇸 Never Forget. Always Honor. 🇺🇸

Today we had the powerful opportunity to see the Tunnel to Towers Foundation’s 9/11 Never Forget Mobile Exhibit here in Texarkana!

This incredible traveling tribute honors the heroes we lost on September 11th, the first responders who ran toward danger, and all the brave men and women who continue to serve and sacrifice for our country.

From the moving display of the trailer to the historic pieces and stories of courage, this exhibit is a powerful reminder of the resilience, unity, and heroism that define the American spirit.

A huge thank you to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation for keeping the memory alive and continuing to support our nation’s first responders, veterans, and Gold Star families.

Liberty-Eylau Fire Department was dispatched mutual aid to Koppers storage Yard in Domino, Texas, at approximately 2109 hours to assist Cass County ESD Fire Departments with a large cross tie pile fire.

LEFD provided a tender and personnel to support water shuttle operations during the incident. Liberty-Eylau units cleared the scene at approximately 2:30 a.m. Wednesday morning.

Several agencies responded and worked together throughout the operation, including departments from Cass County Emergency Services District, Caddo Parish, Miller County and Bowie County.

Today, we recognize the men and women who answer the call—no matter the time, no matter the risk.

On International Firefighters’ Day, we honor the dedication, sacrifice, and courage it takes to serve this profession. From structure fires to medical calls, from training grounds to real-world emergencies—this job demands everything.

We also take a moment to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. Their legacy lives on in every call we answer and every life we protect.
