Patrol services - are performed nightly ranging from 9 pm - 5 am.

We provide armed private patrol services, onsite security officer services, executive protection, process service and emergency roadside services. During these patrols our officers monitor everything that occurs on site from animals to vehicles. We enforce all applicable state and local laws along with any private property rules and regulations. We create an active presence with uniformed officers

coupled with plain clothes officers to further our enforcement capabilities. Call response - is included with all patrol services. We can respond to anything you require. This service is available 24hrs a day 365 days a year (daytime call outs per availability). This may include unwanted subjects, suspicious persons, animals control issues, parking or driving complaints, noise complaints, ect...

Alarm response - is included with all patrol services or as a stabd alone service for facilities that have monitored alarm systems. For these, we receive the call instead of your management and respond with local authorities on your behalf. We assist the responding agencies in checking and securing the facility and then reset the alarm as necessary. All actions and conditions are documented and sent via email to owners / management for review. Site security - puts officers on site for the duration of the day / night to provide enforcement and protection services directly focused on your site and your site alone. You can choose between uniformed or plain clothes and unarmed / armed depending on your specific needs / wants. Our Staff

Wasco County Security vehicles are clearly marked as formal patrol units to help create a visual deterrent. Each unit is equipped with emergency lighting and equipment to preform all tasks of the job. Including first aid kits, vehicle service tools, and mobile data terminals to instantly track and log all contacts and incidents. Reports are sent out dailey via email for morning review. WCS Enforcement Officers wear clean, professional uniforms aiding in the visual deterrent. Our officers are certified through Oregon’s Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST) for armed / unarmed private security (we do not recommend unarmed security for the safety of our officers, clients and the public). In addition to the state standard training our officers under go additional defensive and combative tactics training along with extensive, advanced fi****ms training to better their effectiveness and safety while in the field.

The Gloria Center Emergency Shelter will be open as a Cooling Shelter due to extreme heat:

Friday, July 5 - 11 am to 7 pm
Saturday, July 6 - 11 am to 7 pm
Sunday, July 7 - 11 am to 7 pm
Monday, July 8 - 11 am to 7 pm
Tuesday, July 9 - 11 am to 7 pm
Wednesday, July 10 - 11 am to 7 pm

The Gloria Center is located at 2505 W. 7th Street in The Dalles.

Cooling Shelter operations are led by MCCAC staff and supported by community volunteers. Supports provided include a cool location, water, snacks, hygiene, and first aid items.

We are also accepting donations of supply items for the Cooling Shelter, including gatorade, shelf-stable snack items, lip balm, and sunscreen. Supply donations may be dropped off to The Gloria Center during Cooling Center operations hours or regular business hours.

UPDATE:

Fatal Officer Involved Shooting.

This is an update to the previous alert. West 6th Street remains closed.

Multiple agencies are assisting the Wasco County Sheriff's Office and The City of The Dalles Police Department in investigating a fatal officer involved shooting that occurred early this morning.

Chief Worthy and Sheriff Magill are on scene as are the Chief Deputy and Police Captain.

The identity of the involved officers and the decedent will be released at a later time.

The attached photo depicts a damaged City of The Dalles Police vehicle that was involved in the incident. Again, there is no further threat to public safety and all law enforcement personnel are uninjured.

The interagency major crimes team has been activated and the Senate Bill 111 post incident protocols are being carefully followed.

Chief Worthy said: "I recognize the impacts of an event like this on our community. Please allow detectives the time that they need to carefully investigate and accurately document this shooting incident. The Dalles Police is committed to transparency and more information will be released when the time is appropriate. We appreciate all of the concern from the community and the assistance of our partners."
