Scientific Drilling recently conducted gyro/gyroMWD training for a diverse group of participants from Estrella International Energy Services Ltd., Argentina. The training was attended by field personnel from both Estrella and SDI, including SDI team members from Brazil, Ecuador, and Mexico. The session provided an opportunity to strengthen technical knowledge, share field experience, and improve understanding of gyro/gyroMWD operations across the different teams.

Following the training session, the SDI team also had the opportunity to visit field operations, allowing them to further strengthen and apply the knowledge gained during both the classroom and practical training sessions. This field exposure provided valuable insight into the actual operational environment and helped connect the training concepts with real-world applications.

Faced with collision risks on a crowded pad in the Philippines, a geothermal operator needed pinpoint accuracy to navigate past three critical offset wells.

Introducing ATLAS, Advanced Trajectory & Lift Analysis Service from Scientific Drilling.

When an ESP fails, replacing it without fully understanding the wellbore can mean putting the next system back into the same conditions that may have contributed to the failure.

ATLAS provides a clearer picture of the wellbore before the next ESP is deployed.

Using high-density 1-foot survey data, ATLAS identifies micro doglegs and subtle changes in wellbore trajectory that can be missed with conventional survey spacing. This data can then be used to evaluate wellbore geometry, model bending stress, and help determine the optimal setting depth for the ESP.

Whether planning a new ESP installation or replacing a failed system, ATLAS helps operators identify potential problem areas and make better informed placement decisions before deployment.
