A. If you are contemplating using silt fence as safety fence, don’t.
B. If you have to, install it as if it were silt fence or the inspector will get ya. (And people will make fun)

On the tail of last weeks posting, we are an environmental firm that specializes in erosion prevention.
We take great pride in protecting both our planet and our clients. Our crews do their best to follow the "Leave No Trace" principals. From something as simple as silt fence to stream bank restoration, we strive to work through a job and leave it as if no one has ever been there. I like looking back on a job we finished a year or two ago and it seeming like the facility "grew there" .
Though we cant "Leave what we find" in Wetlands Remediation we absolutely leave it better than we found it. Our children fish these waters, hunt in these woods and wetlands, play and swim at these beaches.

We have all seen a lot in the news about the condition of National Parks during this shutdown. A friend and I rode to Dec 23-30 and this is what we found.
The park was open but the payment window was closed, there was a sign that read “no services per the Government Shutdown”. Trash was not overflowing but the visitors were emptying the bins into the dumpsters and replacing the liners with their own. The public restrooms were clean and not overflowing, it looked to me that people were cleaning up after themselves.
The campgrounds were closed and blocked but the campers simply moved the barricades and camped anyway. Those areas were spotless too.
There was a little trash on the roadways but no more than usual. I did pick up what I normally do, pick up what I find. (kids leave candy wrappers on the ground).

BMPs, I am always working and at looking at jobsites along the way. Two things I noticed were Georgia Class C fence (a ton of it) and it seemed every stretch of silt fence had T-post safety caps. Just a little odd.

We got an opportunity to help reclaim an illegal dumpsite for a client a couple weeks back, very rewarding work.
