Nicholas works in our Naugatuck location. Even tho he has been with us less than a year he has made a massive impact by perfectly embodying our core values: having Pride, Learning, Accountability , Teamwork & Evolving. After quickly mastering our maintenance operations, he has already stepped up to take on the challenge of learning waste treatment management. Their willingness to continuously evolve, take accountability for new responsibilities and support the team highlights exactly what makes our company great.

Start with Yes! Stephen Lewis President & CEO of Thomaston Savings Bank stepped in his new role as 2026-2027 campaign chair during the annual breakfast at La Bella Vista in Waterbury. The moment you say Yes everything changes. Over 400 people brought nearly 900 antiperspirants/deodorants with them to donate to United Way shelter & homeless response partners as they came to learn what United Way of Greater Waterbury plans to do for the coming year; how people in our community will be able to deal with immediate problems like hunger, homelessness, and long term issues that can be addressed with tools that restore financial security & provide educational opportunities for our children. UniMetal Surface Finishing & its employees support United Way of Greater Waterbury. Former Chairs Stacy & George LaCapra, along with Malina & Mason LaCapra took to the stage to introduce an exciting way for everyone to fill our hearts and bellies. Stacy & George LaCapra explained that the $25 raffle tickets are being sold supporting local restaurants& United Way programs and initiatives that help provide food & other basic needs to struggling individual and families across our ten-town community. istheWay! 2500 tickets will be sold in the raffle sponsored by Thomaston Savings Bank.
After the kickoff 100 volunteers walked the walk at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Waterbury donning hairnets, food safety gloves to assemble 21,600 packages of Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal as well as Rice & Beans. The meals were delivered locally by United Way partner City Mission to the homebound, adding to the total by those assembled by other volunteers in 50 cities across the country as United Way Worldwide observed the anniversary of 9/11 National Day of Service and Remembrance. Together 20 million meals will be created.
