Definitely one of the more satisfying projects in a while! Full scale replica train car built from the ground up (modeled after the Napa Valley wine train, will be a functional bar). All custom windows designed, laid out, cut out, & installed by Winslow Glass, Inc. Still a few roof panels, the doors, & the interior left, but well on its way to a gorgeous final result!

It has been the week of Carvel! In order to open up & still minimize contact, order & pick-up transaction windows were needed. Well, Winslow Glass, Inc. was on the case at 3 different locations!
Carvel #1 - Watertown
2 fixed pane windows on each side of the building removed (just the glass) & replaced with custom panels incorporating a sliding window, transom pane, & shelves inside & out!
Carvel #2 - Naugatuck
2 commercial entry doors on both ends of the building, glass alone removed & replaced with panel inserts incorporating an operable window, wicket screens (hinged openings), & shelves inside & out. Also the center steel door was converted with a vision lite frame incorporating a retro-fitted operable window & shelf!
Carvel #3 - Waterbury
Already had sliding windows but needed a sliding screen for transactions, an easy task for Winslow Glass, Inc.

The key element.......all openings can be returned to original setup when this is all over.

Another score for the good guys! This convenience store had been robbed multiple times (as many are). It has a nice looking storefront with insulated glass throughout including the doorlites, which are generally made with tempered glass. The problem with tempered is when broken, it shatters into little pieces and the thief can easily walk right through. The last time it happened Winslow Glass, Inc. was recommended to solve the problem for them. I converted them over to units made right here in shop using laminated safety glass. The result.... this time the thief hit it several times, realized they were not getting in and gave up!

This was an interesting little project..... The front (and rear) glass for this loader are molded, curved pieces that need to be ordered. The front alone is around $1,200. I fabricated an insert that lays into the body, is removable, and converts it to stock flat glass. Cost to change broken piece from now on... $150
