Beginning as a hobby for the previous owners, Clean Star was purchased by the current owner in 2008. Seeing a need for a premier JAN/SAN supplier in South Georgia, the process to turn this hobby into a business began. Products such as towels, tissue & trash liners were the main items of interest for the customer base. However, the goal was to expand Clean Star’s offering to more than just a few “products.” Clean Star wanted to build a business fully capable of meeting customers needs with various complete product lines in the industry.
In 2009 Clean Star quickly became acquainted with food service disposables such as paper, plastic & foam plates & cups, cutlery and thousands of other food service related items. With this new additional to the product line, Clean Star began servicing restaurants, churches, school nutrition programs & other various new customers.
During the next several years, with the motivation of becoming more than a supplier of a few simple lines, Clean Star began to make strides with numerous chemical manufacturers: ABC Compounding, Midlab, Simoniz and most notably Buckeye International.
The partnership with these manufacturers opened up a whole new opportunity by allowing Clean Star to offer full lines of cleaning chemicals, waxes, st*****rs, food service chemicals, industry specific chemicals, dilution control systems and full line hand hygiene programs.
Continuing the trend, a complete line of office supplies, foods, coffees & condiments became available to Clean Star in 2015. This offering allowed Clean Star customers to consolidate their buying even further to a locally owned and operated supplier, getting supplies delivered quickly, eliminating the aggravation of placing multiple orders with multiple vendors.
Additional strides were taken to grow the offering during the same period. Clean Star partnered with complete line floor machine manufacturers: Pacific Floor Care and Minuteman International.
The far reaching capabilities of these manufacturers allowed Clean Star to expand to higher level selling to larger accounts such as building service contractors, hospitals, schools systems and large venues across Georgia, Florida & Alabama. Clean Star continues to grow the relationship with these machine manufacturers as the innovation in cleaning technology improves year over year. Offering labor saving, higher quality solutions to the JAN/SAN industry has become a focus for Clean Star. However, partnering and selling sometimes is not enough, customers need future assurance. Clean Star invested in a work space to maintain and repair machines of all brands, whether Clean Star sold the equipment or not. This allowed customers to have confidence that Clean Star will continue to support our clients over the long haul of their investment. “Not just a simple sell and call when your ready to buy again approach”. The purpose is deeper. Giving our customers an additional reason to buy from Clean Star as opposed to a competitor.
As Clean Star continued to grow, 2017 was a year no different than the previous 9. Manufacturers and vendors across the country continually call on Clean Star looking for distribution opportunities. One of these manufacturers was of particular interest to Clean Star. Offering something slightly different than the standard JAN/SAN, or Office Supply lines, Pariser Industries- (a chemical manufacturer concentrating in the production of laundry and ware wash chemicals) was brought on to solve another need in Clean Star’s territory.
Targeting primarily hotels, hospitals and other various hospitality based businesses, Clean Star’s partnership with Pariser continues to grow with opportunity.
While having a vast distributorship with vendors and manufacturers will always be critical to the growth and preservation of Clean Star. It is imperative that Clean Star keep up with the ever changing technology and convenience our customers require. Knowing this, Clean Star invested in the production of a website for online ordering: www.cleanstarsupply.com. The website is complete with an offering of over 60,000 items available to most customers, a private login with a built in budget feature, quick order forms, approval process and a host of other beneficial features and resources.
Clean Star continues to explore further opportunities in distributorship with manufacturers and vendors across the country.
