AVOID ID THEFT & CHECK FRAUD - Do not put your outgoing checks in an unsecured outgoing mailbox. Take them to a 'Blue box' or the Post Office. Check theft & fraud is occurring right in our neighborhoods & business complexes.

FYI ~ If you are currently using QuickBooks 2013 there is a Maintenance R7 release available to fix some issues. You will need to restart QB after downloading the update for the update to install and take affect.

If you are running your payroll through QuickBooks please be sure to do payroll updates so you have the correct tax tables. (Click on Employees > Get Payroll Updates) Check for regular QuickBooks updates as well if you are using Version 2013. (Click on Help > Update QuickBooks...)

REMINDER - W-2's & 1099's should be postmarked by tomorrow Jan. 31. Your 941's, 940's, State Withholding, State Unemployment and any local taxes should be filed by tomorrow as well.

INFO ON DELAYED FILING OF INDIVIDUAL RETURNS:

Upon the start of the IRS filing season on January 30th, 2013, the IRS has announced that certain forms will not yet be accepted for processing, either electronically or on paper. Unfortunately, you must post-pone filing of any returns containing these forms.

List of IRS forms that 1040 filers can begin filing in late February or into March 2013

W-2's & 1099's are due to be mailed by Jan. 31, 2013. I do have extras to purchase if you only need a few so you don't have to purchase more than you need.

The 2012 tax season will not begin until Jan. 31, 2013 due to the late decisions on the Fiscal Cliff so the IRS is preparing tax forms for your Enrolled Agent or CPA to get started filing Feb. 1, 2013. The due dates will remain the same. March 15 for Corporations & April 17 for Partnerships & Individual returns.
