✅ Ascent Solar (ASTI) is a Colorado-based company that develops, designs, and manufactures thin-film CIGS photovoltaic (PV) solutions for Space, Aerospace, Defense, Emergency Management, Transportation, and other Specialty Markets.
📢 The Company uses a patented 3-step manufacturing process. Our products meet the highest of standards. The first step begins by applying multiple thin-film layers (including a CIGS layer) uniformly onto a roll of our flexible polyimide substrate. Ascent uses a roll-to-roll manufacturing process, that allows for efficient large-scale production. This translates into cost savings for our customers.
▶️ The next layer of the module is produced by passing the roll through laser patterning and precision screen printing. This monolithically integrates the module, which makes it able to withstand damage and continue to function, avoiding catastrophic failure. The final step is the assembly step. Thermal vacuum lamination takes place, which adds additional protection from the environment.
