Townwide Yard Sale? At the most recent Town Council meeting, the idea was proposed to host an annual Townwide Yard Sale the weekend prior to the Town Cleanup. We're going to give it a go! This year's event will be held on Saturday, June 20, from 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM.

The town will be pulling together a map of yard sale locations and advertising the event throughout the area. If you would like to participate, please reply with your property address on this post or send an email to [email protected] as soon as possible to be included on the map! We'd like to have a map available for advertising by next Tuesday, June 16! Thank you!

📣 Town Recycling Bin Update: The pickup schedule for the recycling dumpster at 500 S. Front St. has been adjusted to now include Saturday pickups! W Enterprises will now be picking up on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

📣 SAVE THE DATE! 📣

Our annual Town Cleanup Day will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM on W. Mill St. (just north of the Tom Johnson Memorial Park). This is an opportunity for Thorntown Residents to dispose of heavy trash items, construction debris, furniture, and tires.

Recreational Vehicle (RV) Update
*Properties hooked up prior to 5/4/2026 are grandfathered in under the town's previous ordinances, which did not prohibit permanent occupancy in RVs*

With the passing of Thorntown's Unified Development Ordinance at the May 4, 2026, Town Council meeting, permanent occupancy in Recreational Vehicles (RVs) is now prohibited outside of a campground or RV park.

This year's Memorial Day Service, previously held by Thorntown's American Legion Post at the park, will be held by The Thorntown Heritage Museum. Services begin at 10 AM on the Museum lawn with guest speaker Tom Melville. Cookies and refreshments will be provided.
