Dr. Snedden headed south to Florida to compete at the Live Oak International Combined Driving Event in the FEI 3* pony division—and what a weekend it turned out to be!
Driving as lucky number 13, she delivered a remarkably consistent performance, finishing second in all three phases and second overall in a highly competitive division.
In true “keep it interesting” fashion, the week didn’t start without drama—the carriage broke less than a week before the competition and had to be welded back together. The driving community truly showed up, with multiple competitors offering loaner carriages. Thankfully, the repair was completed late Sunday night, just in time to head out Tuesday!
A major highlight of the weekend was the cones course, where Dr. Snedden drove the second-fastest double clear round across all FEI divisions—an incredible accomplishment.
As always, it takes a village:
• Huge thanks to Dr. McPherson of Windmiller Equine for covering emergencies and urgent client needs back home
• Appreciation to Dr. Snedden’s parents for holding down the fort and babysitting
• Endless gratitude to Parveti Wood, an exceptional trainer and navigator, for her dedication to developing this pony and supporting every step of the journey
• And thank you to the Developing Athlete Program for bringing Glen Geerts of Belgium in for coaching support throughout the event
Feeling incredibly grateful for the team, the pony, and the experience—already looking forward to the next one!
