All this ☔️ has us just sitting around waiting for better weather. Hopefully, we will get some dry days to finish this project's soil conditioning, seeding, and straw. Did get the driveway done though!

What a year 2023 was!! We did a poor job keeping everyone updated on all the events (do better goal 2024).

To recap 2023:

-Older girls competed at Disney for their competitive cheer and did amazing!
-Experienced a 💧 leak and remodeled our entire kitchen.
-We celebrated the oldest turning 16.🥲
-We expanded our hen flock to 40 birds, and their eggs have become available @ TC Market in Thornport.
-Collectively raised and harvested 110 chickens with
-Added three hives to our apiary and again collectively harvested with
-Successfully raised and harvested 20 turkeys.
-Completed a few projects along the way.
-Ran away from it all to Jamaica 🇯🇲 for vacation.

2024 Goals:

-Continue to work with collectively
-Grow the excavation side and complete more projects.
-Grow the apiary.
-Successful garden.
-Add goats. 🐐
-Keep everyone updates better.
-Continue moving towards less processed and more homemade goods and food.

Today we harvested our turkeys that the children worked hard to raise. Their hard work put 247 lbs of meat in the freezer. They were sad to see them go, but excited to select next years birds.

Little late, but with the help of friends we and harvested our Cornish Cross flocks. 335 lbs were harvested collectively. If you’ve never had local farm-raised meat, only big box store-bought products, may we recommend giving it a try!!

Next up is honey harvest!!! 🍯 🐝
