According to a 2015 Gallup study, 51.9% of the US workers are not engaged at work and an additional 15.7% are “actively disengaged”. Just over two thirds of US workers are just doing what must to be done to keep their jobs. The odds are your workers fall into this group.

Companies with more than 1,000 employees reported lower levels of engagement than organizations with less than 1, 000 employees. The disengagement is even greater once an organization reaches more than 5,000 employees when compared against companies with less than a 1,000 employees.

On the other hand, employees who are engaged in the work produce 29% higher revenue and 44% higher profits for their employers*. The same study also revealed that companies with engaged workers have 50% higher customer loyalty.

It is important that you do not confuse employee engagement with employee satisfaction. Employee satisfaction focuses on how happy and content your employees are. An Employee satisfaction fails to measure how motivated or involved your employees are in the business succeed in the marketplace. Engaged employees are much more valuable assets to employers than satisfied employees.

Whereas an engaged employee has the motivation to do more than just what is required. They are actively looking to assist their employers in improving productivity, safety, quality and customer satisfaction.

Engaged employees are more valuable assets to employers than satisfied employees and infinitely more valuable than the two thirds of workers who are either disengaged or actively disengaged.
