A small water stain can tell a bigger story.
With El Niño potentially bringing wetter winter conditions to South Georgia, now is a good time to pay attention to how your home handles rain and moisture.
Leaking roof flashing, gaps around windows, overflowing gutters, and drainage toward the foundation can allow water into places it doesn’t belong. Over time, persistent moisture can damage drywall, insulation, flooring, and wood framing—sometimes before the damage becomes obvious.
At Inside Out Home Inspections LLC, I bring more than 40 years of construction and maintenance experience to evaluating those clues. I look at accessible areas for signs of moisture intrusion and conditions that could contribute to it.
Moisture meters help check suspect materials for elevated moisture. Thermal imaging, when used, helps identify temperature patterns that warrant closer investigation. The camera doesn’t see through walls or prove a leak by itself—interpreting the findings takes experience and follow-up measurements.
My goal is to explain what was observed, why it matters, and what steps may be needed, in a clear report you can understand.
