Good evening all. If you are a member and received your annual meeting notice, you may notice that I made a boo-boo! The RSVP has the wrong date. I guess I was missing 2011. The meeting is March 11, 2025! The letter is correct, just not the cute little RSVP. I had to give Bill a reason to make fun of me this year. Hope to see you all there!

We are currently looking for a qualified applicant to fill a position within our Maintenance staff. The qualified individual should have experience in Industrial Maintenance (i.e. equipment repair, troubleshooting, metal fabrication, and welding). Electrical experience is a plus. The position starts at $16.00 - $18.00 /hr. based on experience, with a progressive annual wage increase. Work schedule is 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday with the possibility of overtime.
Benefits include paid holidays, paid vacation time, medical insurance, and 401K. Anyone interested should come in person on Wednesdays between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. to fill out an application in person. We are located at 995 Bruce Ln. Tifton Ga. TQP had a visitor the other day!

I’m standing in front of almost 60 TONS of peanuts! Stored inside of a dome in South Georgia with Georgia Peanuts Peanut Butter Lovers. One dome holds almost 13,000 tons of in-shell peanuts! Crazy, eh?

With proper storing conditions, these peanuts can last up to 15 months, similar to corn in a grain bin. These are all sold for processing into candy bars, ice cream, trail mix, peanut manufacturers, peanut butter and more!

This facility - Tifton Quality Peanuts LLC - processes 130,000 tons of peanuts per year which results in 180 million pounds of product. The hulls don’t go to waste either; they’re fed to livestock or used in other household products.

Where do your peanuts come from! Georgia ranks the #1 peanut producing state in the country.

Mr. Frank will be missed. He was such a pivotal member of the peanut world. We will surely miss his visits and stories here at TQP! Rest easy Mr. Peanut.

It’s with an extremely heavy heart that we share the news of Mr. J Frank McGill’s passing.

Mr. Frank, or Mr. Peanut as many called him, was dedicated to advocating for Georgia’s peanut industry. His career began as a County Agent for the University of Georgia’s Cooperative Extension Service. From there, he became the very first Peanut Extension Specialist, working at the Coastal Plains Experiment Station, here in Tifton, Georgia. For nearly 30 years, he worked closely with other scientists to establish the “Peanut Team”, to help Georgia’s peanut producers nearly quadruple their yields per acre. After his retirement, he continued advocating for peanuts grown in Georgia and across the US.

“I just did what I was hired to do.” was the humble response Mr. Frank gave when receiving one of his many achievement awards. There will never be enough words to describe the immense impact that Mr. Frank made within the agriculture industry. This impact will last many lifetimes and we will never be able to thank him enough for that.

Please keep Mr. Frank’s family and those who were close with him in your thoughts and prayers. 🥜
