One of our fav workshops is called "Rethink the Routine".

It's based on the concept of Familiarity Bias - when we stick with what is familiar because it's safe.

4 ways this shows up at work.

1- Opportunity Blind Spots. We miss out on someone’s potential by assuming we already know what they can and can't do. This is like keeping a player on the bench because you've never seen what they can do...and they later it turn out they're a superstar.

2- The second area is Team Collaboration. This is when we keep partnering up with the same coworkers over and over instead of inviting new people into our circle. It’s kinda like eating lunch with the same group every day and never realizing what we’re missing at the other table.

3- The third area is called Change Resistance. This is when we avoid new tools, systems, or ideas because well, “this is they way we've always done it.”

4- Finally, there’s Missed Innovation. This is the result of being stuck in the familiar. This is what happens when Ideas get shut down not because they're bad but because they're unfamiliar.

The U.S. Surgeon General declared it in 2023. One of the loneliest places?

This is Gerald Miller. He is the CEO of J&I Duct Fab. He's been an entrepreneur since his teens. (We won't say how long ago that was.)

This morning’s Coffee with Champions was all about Giving & Receiving Feedback—and the group did not hold back. From navigating tough conversations to making feedback a more natural part of everyday interactions, there were a lot of honest insights shared around the table.

We also officially kicked things off at our new location, Rooted Life Collective (110 North Ohio Avenue, Downtown Sidney), and it couldn’t have been a better setting to start this next chapter.
