Here is a little recap of our first two races. A week and a half ago we went to Pittsfield Championship Karting. We replaced the frame that got bent last season. The first heat Michael started p3 and finished p4 out of four. We made some adjustments and it was a little bit better for the second heat and would finish p2. The feature he would start p2 and eventually get the lead and would go on to win the feature but not without a hard battle with the MRS 6. Thank you Kelli Shagla for racing Michael clean, she could of moved him pretty easily but didn't.

This past Saturday would see us head to Somerset County (almost 4 hrs away). We would take both karts (Michael bought a whole new kart also). When we got there we still needed to finish putting the new kart together and scale both karts. He would run in the 425 class and the 390 class. We weren't very good in both practices and then came qualifying. The 425 class he would qualify p6 of 8. The 390 class he qualified 16 out of 20. The feature for 425, the kart was to tight and he would finish p4. Then came the feature for the 390 class. The kart was a lot better but not great. He would race his way through the field and by half way he was passing for third and he would hit the last turtle coming out of turn four and it made him spin out. He had to go back to 18th. So he had to start working all over again and would climb his way back to fifth place. We felt pretty good about that with how tough the competition was there. Thank you to Matthew Field and Kevin Reichel for the help with spare parts. The Karting community can compete against each other and then turn around and help each other.
