Additional safeguard when checking firearm in luggage at airport.

You may wish to share . Some may already be aware of this . Was told done after shooting at Fort Lauderdale FL when traveler took firearm from checked in luggage after landing and shot several people.
This happened to me this weekend when I traveled to Knoxville TN for a funeral/ memorial service
This was on Delta Airlines from and to LaG. I don't know if other airlines are doing this.

1. The usual TSA procedure in place (unloaded in hard side locked case in your luggage) except the airline puts a
special tag on the luggage stating NOT put on Carousal luggage conveyer belt when plane lands. The
luggage is given direct handling by one person.
2. Text message when luggage is put on plane .
3. Text message when luggage is removed from plane at your destination.
4. The luggage is given direct handling by one person and brought directly to airline agent and you must show
luggage receipt and ID
5. Zip tie is put through lock and around luggage so you can't open in airport luggage claim area.

I think a good idea and had no problem with this. I also am going to purchase a small metal or hard plastic suitcase for when I travel with the firearm instead of using the material sided type one I now use/have.
