A little glimpse of spring here on the farm! Daffodils, Peonies, and Snapdragons are happy, We lost some Poppies and Lisianthus from the late winter ice storm….but we have abkut half the Poppies blooming and there is new growth on the Lisi, a good sign. Very happy to see that it seems like the Dahlia’s made it through a tough winter too because we have sprouts! We don’t dig up the tubers every fall. It is so labor intensive that some years we leave the them in the ground. We make sure they are dry, cover the beds in pine straw, and then lay down black plastic. With the deep freeze we had here in Virginia this winter I was afraid we might have lost them. We will wait and see…Hopefully we’ll have Dahlia blooms early this summer! 🌸🌺🌼🌷❤️

✨Hello flower friends…this is a friendly reminder to Unleash Your Inner Creativity✨ Creativity isn’t something for a select few- it’s a spark that resides in each of us, waiting to be uncovered. Whether it’s painting, writing, designing, singing, or dreaming up big ideas - set aside time to practice and feed your creativity. 💫Erin released an inspirational video of her creative practice and the 2025 Bouquet Project to remind growers that creativity is important and it needs to be nourished and flow frequently. We all get caught up in the day-to-day of work and family life and forget to focus on it and often times don’t have the simple luxury of time for ourselves. So this week I set aside a little bit of time and a few flowers to devote to my creative process. A vase, a flower frog, a variety of daffodils from the farm, and foraged autumn olive for greenery. Now sitting on my kitchen table - a daily reminder to seek inspiration, embrace the process, and commit time to learning something I love. 🦋Feed your creativity with nature, books, music, flowers, friends, and keep curiosity wide open. The world has endless wonders to fuel your ideas! Draw, write, sing, build , dream, grow…the possibilities are limitless. 💖.

❄Winter blues...? Maybe a little bit...but they quickly disappear when I think about these beauties that will be blooming soon!

Our anemones will be popping in late winter and early spring, and I can't wait! They are so special and are only around for a few short weeks.

This amazing photography was taken by and it captures the magic of our flowers - to be enjoyed year-round and especially during the long cold days of winter. Josh and his wife are such talented photographers who are also friends of the farm. We sold Josh's flower prints and note cards last spring in our farm shop and they sure were eye catching!!

Stay warm everybody and think about spring flowers to chase away the winter blues.🌷

🎄As the most festive time of year is here and we celebrate the season, I thought I would say a little hello and big thank you! ❤️ This December we dialed it way back and did not host holiday pop ups on the farm but…I designed a small number of wreaths for custom orders…and they were SO fun to create. I was also invited to make arrangements for The City of Williamsburg as a helper to Libby Oliver, a retired horticulture expert for the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation and part of the - this was one of the highlights for me!!🤍

We missed seeing everyone at the farm for the holidays…but needed the time for family and friends this year! 💚

Thank you to everyone for supporting the flower farm this past year and we look forward to 2025 and all the adventures ahead. 💫

We hope you have a wonderful holiday and enjoy time with family, friends, and good cheer! 🎄

Flowers and weddings are made for each other! This weekend I loved designing with our Dahlias and Heirloom Mums to create some autumn floral magic- working alongside some amazing local businesses… the venue, the bride’s own , catering by , photography by , we made sure Jennifer’s big day was gorgeous!!I So many elegant touches came through for this special day that reflected the couple and what they love. The bride has an artistic side, so she designed the groomsmen’s feather boutonnières, and creatwd hand painted ties, and built a bar made from a classic Land Rover. I think our flowers were the finishing touch for this classic and gorgeous wedding !! 💫
