✨Here White Hall Flower Farm Dahlias, Cosmos, and late summer Roses are in bloom on the farm right now…but not without some ups and downs! ✨The extreme heat and humidity have been problematic for our flowers this summer, to say the least… but they have been hanging in there (just barely 🥵) . Despite the struggle in the garden we are designing custom arrangements for events and special orders. I’ll share photos of the prettys and spare you from shots of the dying plants and weeds. 😂 This lovely centerpiece was on display Williamsburg Winery Weddings expo last weekend. And here are some fresh cut bunches of Cosmos and Dahlias resting in the studio before they make their way into bouquets! While it still feels like summer, we are thinking abut fall color palettes and hoping for more rain cooler temps. The weeds are relentless and have taken over… but cleanup and fall planting will happen soon. 🙏🏻🌱Hope everyone gets a little time this weekend to rest (even though the to do list is long) …and that you can spend time with those you love. I don’t know about you but I love the change of the seasons so….Cheers to the end of one season and welcoming in the next!! 🍁🏈🎃🦃 ☀️

👩‍🍳 Here’s another small family business in Tuscany that is amazing and creates an authentic Italian experience for their guests!! We had so much fun Gaia’s Cooking Lab yesterday and were treated to real Italian hospitality . After working in the family kitchen to learn how to make pasta and tiramisu from Gaia, her mother, and grandmother, we sat among the olive trees on their farm to enjoy our made from scratch Tuscan dinner. Pesto, ravioli, tagliatelle, and wine from the region… it was perfect!! Thank you Gaia!! 🤩

If in Tuscany make time to visit or stay you will LOVE it! We had the most beautiful wine tour hosted by . Here the climate and landscape, together with the flora and fauna are one of a kind. Olives, grapes, and figs all on the same family owned farm. Absolutely perfect in every way. Wine tasting, luxury resort, and Michelin Star Restaurant all combind into a wonderful experience…Ciao Bella!! 🍷🫒🇮🇹

✨We are so excited to be collaborating with on Friday, June 5th for their First Friday in Bloom event! ✨It is free and open to the public from 5:00-8:00pm. We will have our flower bar available to create your own bouquet ($25) 💐You will be able to tour their art collections, listen to live music, and enjoy a glass of wine or a cheese platter from their café. There will be a flower still life table to paint your own watercolor. Come out, be inspired, and get creative, while soaking in beautiful works of art.🖼️

Spent the loveliest day freelancing for with and and wow…the florals were pure magic. Jessica designs the dreamiest florals with gorgeous garden roses, fresh local flowers, and a soft color palette that came together in the most romantic way. So grateful to be part of such a creative, joy filled team!

A little glimpse of spring here on the farm! Daffodils, Peonies, and Snapdragons are happy, We lost some Poppies and Lisianthus from the late winter ice storm….but we have abkut half the Poppies blooming and there is new growth on the Lisi, a good sign. Very happy to see that it seems like the Dahlia’s made it through a tough winter too because we have sprouts! We don’t dig up the tubers every fall. It is so labor intensive that some years we leave the them in the ground. We make sure they are dry, cover the beds in pine straw, and then lay down black plastic. With the deep freeze we had here in Virginia this winter I was afraid we might have lost them. We will wait and see…Hopefully we’ll have Dahlia blooms early this summer! 🌸🌺🌼🌷❤️
