***Matte Laminate vs Gloss Laminate for Interior Applications***

We wanted to share a few photos that clearly demonstrate the difference between matte and gloss laminate in interior applications, particularly in areas with overhead lighting.

The upper sections in these photos feature our newly installed vinyl with a matte laminate, while the lower sections show the previously installed vinyl with a gloss laminate. The matte finish significantly reduces glare and light reflection, allowing the graphics and lettering to remain more visible and consistent from different viewing angles.

The professional difference is especially noticeable when vinyl is applied over uneven, textured, or blemished surfaces. Gloss laminate tends to emphasize every contour and imperfection by reflecting the ceiling lights, while matte laminate helps soften the appearance of the surface and provides a cleaner, more uniform finished product.

For interior wall graphics in brightly lit spaces, matte laminate generally offers better readability and a more professional overall appearance.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SLI Custom Signs & Apparel Mourns the Passing of Founder Lynn, “The Sign Lady”

TOLEDO, OH — SLI Custom Signs & Apparel is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Lynn, affectionately known as “The Sign Lady” and the founder of SLI. Lynn passed away Saturday morning with her son and daughter-in-law by her side.

Lynn’s vision, determination, and entrepreneurial spirit laid the foundation for what SLI has become today. What began through her hard work and dedication grew into a company known for serving businesses, schools, organizations, and communities throughout the region with custom signs, apparel, and promotional products.

To those who knew her, Lynn was more than the founder of a business. She was a hardworking, creative, and caring person whose impact reached far beyond the walls of the company she built. Her legacy will continue through the team, customers, and community relationships that remain at the heart of SLI.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 24th in the afternoon at Jasin-Hoening Funeral Home in Toledo. SLI will be closing early that day so team members may attend and honor Lynn’s life and legacy.

The SLI team extends its heartfelt condolences to Lynn’s family, friends, customers, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
