The Novel Bean Small batch custom coffee roasting. Bringing fresh coffee to Southwest Phoenix and the world. I want to prove that to you.

It all started when I was buying expensive coffee and noticing it tasted stale. I discovered that how fresh the coffee is makes much more of a difference than what beans you use. Cheap beans from Columbia or Mexico that were roasted yesterday are SO much better than even Hawaiian beans that have been sitting on the shelf for 6 months.

A peaberry seed, still covered in mucilage, lays in the ripe (and darkening) coffee cherry that once held it. 🍒 Peaberries are rounded, singular seeds—you won't see the flat side it gets from two beans facing each other. Peaberries are technically a 'defect' where one seed forms while the other is terminated, but they've become widely accepted for their flavor and ability to roast evenly.
