There’s something about a Himalayan Tahr that demands a second look.

Native to the steep, rocky slopes of the Himalayas, these animals are built for terrain that would make most of us turn around. Their powerful legs and specialized hooves allow them to navigate incredibly steep mountainsides with ease.

Straight from the high country to the trophy room —these Himalayan tahr are bringing some serious character to the wall.

Native to the Himalayas of India and Nepal, tahr were introduced to New Zealand more than 120 years ago and have made the rugged Southern Alps home ever since. 🇳🇿

💡 FUN FACT: That wild, lion-like mane isn’t just for looks. Mature bull tahr grow their thickest, most impressive coats during the winter months — and it’s one of the features that makes them such an unforgettable trophy.

Some mounts fill a wall.
This one takes over the whole damn room. 🔥

Massive curls. Full-body detail. Custom habitat. And a pedestal built to make this ram impossible to walk past without stopping.

They named her Liv… but we’re starting to think they picked the wrong name. 😂🦌

The first time Liv hunted Africa, the running joke became that maybe her name should be “Die” instead of “Liv”… because apparently nothing lives around Liv. 😏

Well, she’s back at it.

At just 12 years old, Liv filled her youth general elk tag after hiking, riding horses, battling the mountain weather, and making some pretty incredible memories along the way.

Africa wasn’t a fluke. This girl likes to hunt—and judging by that smile, she’s nowhere near finished. 🔥

Africa really does know how to make them pretty. 😮‍💨

This Nyala is officially ready to leave the shop—and between those horns, stripes, and that dark shaggy coat, he turned out GOOD.

Some mounts just make you stop for a second on the way past. This is one of them.
