The other day I heard about a meeting after the meeting. As a leader, my heart sunk. Then, I found out what they met about...
This has been a challenging year for leaders at every level, to say the least. Even if your organization isn't struggling financially in some way due to the state of the world, your team members are living with fear and anxiety about uncertainty in the future.
We are making a greater effort to be transparent with our team the way we are with our clients - no one likes surprises. So, even if we don't have it all figured out yet, we've committed to sharing what we do know.
Our team is full of individuals who take ownership and responsibility for their part in our success, and when we share challenges, something really inspiring happens.
They ask, "what can we do to help?" And, they don't wait for us to figure it all out. They come up with ideas to be part of the solution, and then roll up their sleeves.
I'm wondering how many leaders never experience that level of "in this together" from their team members?
I used to hold back information - out of fear. I was afraid that if my team knew how scary entreprenuership can be sometimes, they would peace out, head for the hills, abandon ship.
But what I learned is that an ideal team player is all in. And that is the difference between a good team member and a Game Changer. If you want to attract that kind of talent to your team, or grow yourself and the people you have into game changers, let's talk.
Buckle up - 2021 is going to be a hard year, too. Make sure you're doing everything you can to surround yourself with the kind of team that will get through it and be better for it - together.
I've created a systematic approach to shifting culture and recruiting on your team. I'd love to help you walk through it for your team.
