Summer isn’t over just yet and neither is our good news!

We are honored to have assisted the Central Contra Costa Sanitary District (Central San) with its recruitment for Director of Engineering & Infrastructure Strategy, resulting in the promotion of Nitin Goel following the highly competitive search. Prior to being promoted to the Director level, Nitin served as Planning & Optimization Division Manager for the agency.

In his new role, Nitin provides executive leadership for capital projects, planning, optimization, resource recovery, and development services. Further, he will help guide Central San’s capital investments in the coming years to ensure our infrastructure projects promote sustainability, provide long-term reliability, and deliver value for our customers.

Nitin brings over 20 years of experience in the water and wastewater industry, along with an impressive blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, collaboration, and effective leadership. Central San’s newest director earned his master’s degree in civil and environmental engineering from Duke University and a bachelor of technology degree in civil engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology.

The City of Escondido is searching for its next City Engineer to deliver infrastructure, strengthen land development services, build relationships and help shape how Engineering Services serves the community. Can our summer be full of too much good news? Obviously not.

Join us in congratulating Mike Garcia on being named the City of Yorba Linda’s Deputy City Manager for Economic Development!!

Mike’s distinguished 25+ year career in community and economic development spans both Orange and Los Angeles Counties and includes co-founding and running his own successful consulting firm. Before arriving in Yorba Linda this week, Mike most recently served as Executive Director of the City of Santa Ana’s Community Development Agency. He has also held leadership positions in the Cities of Pico Rivera and Norwalk. Fun facts – he started his urban planning/community development career with the Rosenow Spevacek Group, and he also served as a city councilmember in Santa Ana!! Talk about value added. 💜

Mike holds an MPA from Cal State Fullerton and a bachelor’s degree from UC Irvine in political science. In addition to his time as an elected official in Santa Ana, he has served on numerous regional boards throughout his career.

Our summer celebration of placements continues with the selection of Rick Bruneau as Alameda County Water District’s new Director of Finance. Congratulations Rick!!

Following a competitive national recruitment, ACWD selected Rick, who was then serving as Vice President – Finance and Accounting for the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco. Our candidate is no stranger to local government having previously served as Director of Finance in the City of San Jose. In addition to his local and federal experience, Rick’s portfolio also includes time in the private sector.

ACWD will benefit from Rick’s nearly 20 years of public sector finance, accounting, and organizational leadership experience across large and complex institutions. In his new role, he will oversee accounting and treasury, budget and financial analysis, customer account services, and procurement and contracts.

Rick holds an MBA from the University of Massachusetts and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Eastern Connecticut State University. In addition, he is a licensed CPA in the State of California.
