Charles Agee
September 14, 1953 – May 24, 2026

Town Creek — Charles Agee, 72, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Charles was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He dedicated 20 years of service to the people of Town Creek as District 2 Town Creek City Councilman, serving his community with pride and commitment. He was also a faithful attendee of Sanderson Methodist Church in Town Creek.

Charles retired as a pipefitter from Turner Industries in Decatur and Local 760 in Muscle Shoals after many years of hard work and dedication. He was known as a man who always worked hard to provide for his family, and that is how he will always be remembered and respected.

He enjoyed the simple things in life and was an avid Alabama football fan — “Roll Tide” — along with a love for NASCAR and watching Gunsmoke. Charles also leaves behind the memory of his unmistakable, beautiful head of hair that family and friends will never forget.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sherry Agee; sons, Charles Ike Agee and Derek Frost (Michele); daughters, Danielle Austin (AW), Tina Merrell (Stoney), and Rachel Greene (Jason); and sister, Delois Cornelison (Robert). He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Nicholas Agee (Tori), Branden Agee (Jessica), Stephanie Elliott (Mitchell), Kailyn Merrell (Sebastian), Bree Kimbrough (Jonathan), Joe Agee, Gavin Terry, Brennan Agee, Kalina Frost, and Colette Frost, along with 21 great-grandchildren who brought him much joy.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Silas and Mable Agee; brothers, Nathaniel Agee and Darnell Agee; sisters, Marvileen Nichols, Mabel Jean Martin, Marcleen Childress, and Peggy Agee; and his beloved grandson, Nathan Merrell.

Charles leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, laughter, and dedication to both his family and community. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 27, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Jackson Memory Funeral Home, with funeral services immediately following. Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Town Creek.

Still trying to find the words for what an honor this is.

A heartfelt thank you to the committee of the R.A. Hubbard Legacy Foundation for selecting me as a recipient of the Community Service Award. To be recognized for something that comes from a genuine place of serving others is truly humbling.

Service has never been about recognition for me, it has always been about making a difference, building connections, and doing my part to pour back into the people that have poured into me. To know that those efforts have been seen and appreciated means more than I can express.

Thank you for this incredible honor and for celebrating individuals who are committed to the community. I share this recognition with everyone who has supported and encouraged me and Jackson Memory throughout this 21+ year journey.

Congratulations to all of the other honorees, and thank you again for this unforgettable acknowledgment. My heart is full. ❤️
