WANTED: Controller for a well established Pasadena, MD based business. Five plus years of business and financial decision making experience a plus. Must have meticulous attention to detail and accuracy and enjoy working with numbers and problem-solving. Must have good communication and analytical skills and possess a basic knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Only one or two people are in the office most days, so must enjoy working alone, cranking out the work and "getting things done".

Systems are currently run using Sage/Peachtree software but may convert to Quickbooks. Must be proficient in one or the other (both preferred).

This person will run the accounting/bookkeeping operations of the company and report directly to the owner. Tasks include:

Documenting transactions and overseeing all financial data on a daily basis to ensure accurate records are maintained
Excellent data entry skills
Producing periodic financial reports and budgets
Able to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines in a fairly low-stress environment
Preparing internal and external financial statements
Providing the owner with important data for decision-making purposes
Assessing current accounting operations, software and database systems
Offering recommendations and possibly implementing new systems and processes as needed
Developing and monitoring business performance metrics
Phone support to the workers in the plant operations as help is needed
Light tax planning
Work Hours and Benefits:

40 hour week; can be flexible as to actual start and finish time
Health insurance

Welcome to our recent members this week! If you like, please say hi and take the time to introduce your self. Our group is pretty divers in people and professions. We look forward to bringing you programming, holding podcast interviews, mastermind groups on the web, giving you access to our private group page and being a vehicle to help any business forward that we can. If you have any questions, concerns or comments, we will look to our community to answer first.
