At SV Propane, safety is always a top priority. With April being National Safe Digging Month, we’re encouraging customers to dig safely as they tackle spring projects.

While it’s still important to call 811 to mark utility lines, propane lines are not included. If you’ll be digging near your gas line, we recommend shutting the gas off at the tank before you begin. This simple step helps keep you, your home, and your project safe.

If a line is accidentally hit, SV Propane is just a call away to handle repairs quickly.

A little fire, a lot of safety. 🔥
If you ever spot a setup like this, there’s no need for concern. This is a controlled process performed by our trained SV Propane technicians.

Before certain maintenance or repairs can be done, a tank may need to be emptied because of the pressure. To do this safely, our team uses specialized equipment to carefully burn off the remaining propane. Our team follows strict procedures and takes every precaution to ensure this process is handled properly. It’s all part of keeping our systems safe and efficient.

Pretty cool to watch and a reminder that SV Propane is always working to take care of the communities we serve.

It’s spring cleaning season, and your propane appliances shouldn’t be left off the list. 🌼

Giving them a little spring spruce-up helps keep everything running safely and efficiently as we head into warmer weather.

🌸Wipe down stovetops and grills with a rag and warm water, checking for clogged burners
🌸Check outdoor tanks and connections for buildup or damage
🌸Make sure vents and airflow areas are unobstructed

A little maintenance now can make a big difference later. We’re always here if you need us!

A friendly reminder from SV Propane: Daylight Saving Time begins tomorrow, Sunday, March 8! ⏰

Before heading to bed tonight, remember to set your clocks forward one hour.

It’s also a great time to check the batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors while you’re adjusting the clocks.

We hope everyone enjoys the extra daylight and has a safe, wonderful Sunday!

The answer is....C - the pressure in the tank drops.
Propane itself doesn’t freeze in normal winter temps (it would need to reach about –300°F) but cold weather lowers tank pressure, which can affect how appliances run. That’s one reason we recommend keeping your tank as full as possible during winter.

Stay warm, stay safe, and if you ever have propane questions, we’re always here to help!

It’s Trivia Tuesday with SV Propane!

Let’s test your propane knowledge. Take a guess at today’s question and leave your guess in the comments. Be sure to check back tomorrow afternoon for the correct answer.
