SUMMARY

Plans layout, installs, and repairs wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Plans new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications and local electrical codes.

2. Prepares sketches showing location of wiring and equipment, or follows diagrams or blueprints.

3. Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles, and installs electrical conduit.

4. Pulls wiring through conduit. Task completion includes installing all conduit covers.

5. Knowledge of single phase and three phase power, up to 480 VAC.

6. Connects wiring to lighting fixtures, motors, motor controls and power equipment.

7. Splices wires by stripping insulation from terminal deads, twisting or soldering wires together, and applying tape or terminal caps.

8. Test motors with megometer. Replaces electric motor bearings and rewires motors.

9. Installs control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, sensors (AC and DC) and circuit-breaker panels.

10. Connects power cables to equipment, such as portable electric equipment, and installs grounding leads.

11. Tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components with testing instruments.

12. Maintain and repair PLC'S and associated equipment

13. Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.

14. Repairs faulty equipment or systems.

15. Maintain work area in clean, neat, and orderly condition.

16. Meet all productivity and efficiency standards as outlined by management.

17. Follow all safety rules and regulations, including active participation in the prompt identification and communication of safety hazards.

18. Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices.

19. Must be available to work overtime as needed, with or without advance notice.

20. Must be able to work any shift and weekends as necessary.

21. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Reporting to the Director of Operations the Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading, managing, and developing the site’s Maintenance Program and Maintenance Team in a manner that supports the attainment of company objectives, goals, standards, budgets, and production requirements. The Maintenance Manager leverages an extensive hands-on working knowledge of modern production equipment systems, a deep understanding of reactive, preventative, and predictive maintenance principles and approaches, and an unwavering commitment to continuous improvement of the maintenance organization.

This leader excels at productive resource allocation and problem resolution in a high-speed, fast-pace, complex and dynamic operational environment. He/she routinely exhibits excellent communication skills, high initiative and drive, real time adaptive flexibility, problem solving mastery, analytical acumen and rigorous attention to detail, resilience, and coaching team-building skills.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Advance the site operational performance through championing the Maintenance Excellence journey to deliver target equipment Reliability, Uptime, and Availability.

• Directs the maintenance teams, programs, and processes in a manner that drives high uptime reliability and availability of Plant equipment and systems.

• Sets and upholds high work standards and expectations for maintenance team members.

• Develops staff personnel through various combinations of formal training, teamwork exercises, and technical skill building activities and assignments.

• Coordinates with other management staff to ensure efficiency in preventative maintenance and new equipment installation.

• Oversees facilities design and inspection, equipment repair and installation.

• Champions the use and leveraging of the Plant’s Computerized Maintenance Management System

• Guide the Maintenance team to perform in alignment with the site’s Safety, Quality, and Environmental/Regulatory/Safe Quality Food policies and procedures.

• Manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs.

• Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets.

• Work with engineering and operations regularly to ensure needs are aligned.

• Work with inventory management to track and maintain spares and specialized tooling.

• Develop and maintain maintenance procedures & schedules for existing and future equipment.

• Ensure adherence to a safe work culture and improve upon safety as needed.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This job manages and leads the Maintenance Supervisory management team who in-turn supervise Plant Maintenance Technicians (approximately 25 mechanics and electricians).

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or related field, with 5 to 7 years of experience.

• Leadership experience of 3 to 5 years.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to prioritize, plan and work on multiple strategic and tactical work items.

• Well-organized, self-motivated, and detail oriented, with the ability to plan and execute job tasks independently.

• Strong computer skills, specifically the ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, AutoCAD, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering, with 7 to 10 years of experience in product development, food processing, and packaging systems in the food processing industry.

• Professional certifications such as Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) and/or Certified Professional Maintenance Manager (CPMM) or equivalent.

• Previous Maintenance Supervision experience combined with demonstrated strong team building skills and professional values.

SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Plant Engineer, the Electrical Controls Engineer is responsible for effectively managing and continuously improving this food facility’s highly automated, Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) technology-based machine and process control systems, in a manner fully supporting the Plant’s daily production goals, the maintenance organization’s mission, and the business’s longer term capital project plans.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in designing, developing, implementing, maintaining and troubleshooting PLC based control systems and related technologies to include Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Ethernet based PLC and Computer networking, Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs), AC/DC Motor Drives, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), Multi-axis Servo Controllers, Closed Single Loop Controllers, Digital and Analog Instrumentation, Sensors, Encoders, Actuators, etc. Hands on PLC programming and diagnostic skills will also be used routinely and extensively to drive high uptime equipment performance and process reliability.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

Lead the design, development, implementation, maintenance and troubleshooting of the Plant's PLC based factory floor machine and process control systems in accordance with the NFPA 70, local, state, and federal standards and guidelines.

Serve as the site's Controls expert technical troubleshooting "go-to" resource for the Electrical Maintenance Team.

Specify, source and initiate the purchasing of electrical controls related hardware and software.

Manage capital projects to include Management of Change (MOC), project scoping, project planning, contractor bidding, supervision & directing of contracted Programmers and System Integrators.

Support all company policies, Employee Safety standards, Food Safety initiatives, USDA & FDA Regulations, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).

Follow all safety rules and regulations, including active participation in the prompt identification and communication of safety hazards.

Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Maintenance Mechanic sets up, repairs, rebuilds and operates a variety of production equipment, maintenance equipment and tools.

Summary

Reporting to the Maintenance Systems Manager, this position will partner with the maintenance team and supervisors at the plant to maintain accurate inventory and proper paperwork flow of all items in parts room. Additionally, will perform weekly inventory checks to ensure accuracy of MP2/Dynaway and to reorder items with zero inventories.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Courteous and helpful interaction with plant personnel and outside vendors.

• Assist maintenance personnel with parts checkout and searching for parts.

• Receive parts and materials from the Receiving department and distribute appropriately to stock or personnel.

• Perform routine weekly inventory checks to ensure that MP2/Dynaway matches existing stock.

• Perform routine weekly inventory checks to identify and reorder items with zero inventories. Food Safety

• Print new parts tags, verify information, and place tags in appropriate locations.

• Perform weekly cycle counts of stock items.

• Pre-kit parts orders for work orders.
