SUMMARY
Plans layout, installs, and repairs wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Plans new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications and local electrical codes.
2. Prepares sketches showing location of wiring and equipment, or follows diagrams or blueprints.
3. Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles, and installs electrical conduit.
4. Pulls wiring through conduit. Task completion includes installing all conduit covers.
5. Knowledge of single phase and three phase power, up to 480 VAC.
6. Connects wiring to lighting fixtures, motors, motor controls and power equipment.
7. Splices wires by stripping insulation from terminal deads, twisting or soldering wires together, and applying tape or terminal caps.
8. Test motors with megometer. Replaces electric motor bearings and rewires motors.
9. Installs control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, sensors (AC and DC) and circuit-breaker panels.
10. Connects power cables to equipment, such as portable electric equipment, and installs grounding leads.
11. Tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components with testing instruments.
12. Maintain and repair PLC'S and associated equipment
13. Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
14. Repairs faulty equipment or systems.
15. Maintain work area in clean, neat, and orderly condition.
16. Meet all productivity and efficiency standards as outlined by management.
17. Follow all safety rules and regulations, including active participation in the prompt identification and communication of safety hazards.
18. Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices.
19. Must be available to work overtime as needed, with or without advance notice.
20. Must be able to work any shift and weekends as necessary.
21. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 65 pounds, and occasionally is required to lift and /or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and distance vision.
TRAINING
College, university or trade school electrical program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Read a measure tape.
