Fired FBI Director James Comey won’t be sleeping well tonight and he deserves every bit of lost sleep. Documents have been released proving that there was an FBI setup of General Flynn. The documents and the proof of a setup brought to light the video below where Comey boldly brags about how he se...

Analogies help with expressing concepts that might be otherwise seem hard to understand. So, let's go with some analogies -- comparing two different ways of how you might buy certain kinds of services.

I'm not a recruiter (although I've tried it for a bunch of years -- different industry). And, because in my field being a contractor with lots of short gigs is sort of the norm nowadays, I don't have any problems with recruiters contacting me about new opportunities. Most recruiters contacting me have the right approach. They don't need to apologize. They have gotten me some good gigs.

However, there are *some* who need to get a clue. If you are going to contact someone, READ THEIR PROFILE. If they are a "technical writer" or "technical editor" and live on the west coast, *DON'T* contact them about a "technician" or "engineering" job in Chicago. UNDERSTAND what the job entails and what the candidate may bring to the job. It helps if you have actually *done* the job yourself so you have a better idea of whether or not you have a match. Don't waste my time by playing games -- include the job description in your contact.

Oh, and there are some recruiters who I value because they *know* what I can do and they have gotten me jobs that were good for both of us. They are the best and I don't consider them as my "recruiters" but moreso like my "agents". I've even volunteered to dig up jobs and pass them through my "agent" for the W-2 paperwork. My "agents" handle the pay rate and the I-9, and other employment paperwork. And I do the job and fill out the timesheet each week. Nice arrangement.
