The Grand Traverse Conservation District, in partnership with the MSU Northwest Horticultural Research Station, is hosting the Perennial Farm Ecosystem Conference on August 22—and registration for this FREE event is now open.

This conference will explore what regenerative agriculture looks like in perennial cropping systems and provide growers with practical strategies to improve soil health, strengthen biological nutrient cycling, support pollinator habitat, and build long-term resilience in orchard and vineyard operations.

Participants will hear from an outstanding lineup of speakers including:

• Joel Williams – Plant Nutrition and Foliar Applications in Perennial Crops
• Mark Mazzola – Managing Soil and Rhizosphere Biology in Orchard Establishment
• Larry Phelan – Soil Communities and Crop Resistance to Insects and Disease
• Chuck Schembre – Regenerative Orchard Management
• Carrie Fitzpatrick – GAP/PRIMUS and Regenerative Agriculture

The program will also include a field demonstration at the research station and a moderated panel discussion with all speakers.
