We see a lot of fall injuries in our community, and data shows falls as some of the leading injuries that Fire/EMS sees.
Here are some tips for you to consider in your home.
In addition, PFD wants to add these tips that will help dispatch and arriving first responders:
1. Are you on any blood thinners? Such as Eliquis. (This is very important due to the increase risk of internal bleeding.)
2. Did you hit your head when you fell?
3. Do you recall the event/fall?
This is very important information that can help us help you.
Also, keep in mind that we do have fall prevention handouts.
We also have an emergency medical information magnets. These will allow you to write all of your important information such as medicines, allergies, medical conditions, and emergency contacts.
These are all free for you that will help us during an emergency.
