Jim had a very successful career as a Xerox Salesman (joining the company when it was the Haloid Photo Co.) and Kay was ready to re‐enter the workforce. After some careful planning and research they decided Jim's knowledge of copying and duplicating and Kay's love of people they would be well suited for a copying business. In June of 1982 The Copy Shop opened for business – Traverse City's first c

opy business with two copiers, a typewriter, one staff member and a willing attitude to do what the customer wanted when the customer wanted it. It was not long until Jim and Kay found their customers wanted more – creative, bindery and finishing were quickly added to the service list. Over the last 29 years we have added services and equipment that help us meet our customers needs. Eleven years later Jim and Kay decided it was time to phase into retirement. Their son Dan decided to come back from Seattle, where he, his wife and two children were living to Traverse City to learn the "copy" business in 1993. Dan officially purchased the business in 1999. Thankfully Jim and Kay are still around and help out now and then. Guided by "provide what the customer wants when they want it" mindset The Copy Shop has been the first to offer many "copying" services in Traverse City. The Copy shop was the first to have high speed black and white copies (an amazing 40 copies per minute); the areas first color laser copier. Over the years The Copy Shop has remained a leader in bringing the best equipment to Traverse City and our customers. This allows us to provide the very best in printed products to our customers. The Copy Shop has evolved into a full service shop with the ability to take a project from concept to the end product no matter if it is a bookmark or a full color trifold brochure. We can get your message on almost any kind of paper from plain white to carbonless to the newest product – a no‐tear waterproof paper. We print business cards, letterhead, envelopes, forms, tickets, catalogs, booklets, posters and much more. We offer quality graphic design, bindery services, UPS and Fed Ex too!

PC computer knowledge is a must. Job entails waiting on customers and running copying and bindery equipment.

Need to be able to multi-task and fulfill customer orders under deadlines.

Graphic Designer Needed - Full time position. Must be able to multi-task and handle many jobs and emails during the day in busy fast-paced environment. Knowledge of printing set-up required including bleeds, crop marks, spot colors, etc. Job entails designing projects and printing out customer provided files.

Software Used for design/type: Quark Xpress, InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. Software Printed from: Pages, Word, Acrobat, Excel. Pay commensurate with experience.

We are also looking for a customer service rep.
