Grand Traverse Leelanau Antrim Bar Association The GTLA Bar Association is a non-profit organization comprised of over 200 lawyers based in northwestern lower Michigan.

Our mission is to maintain the highest professional standards and competence among attorneys, to promote collegiality and camaraderie among attorneys, to improve the administration of justice, and to provide law-related service and education to our members and the public. The Grand Traverse-Leelanau-Antrim Bar Association takes part in a number of activities that support its mission. These activit

ies include:

Volunteering at local legal aid clinics
Offering continuing legal education programs to our members and other interested parties
Hosting social events for members of the local legal community
Donating to law-related organizations through our charitable giving foundation

Looking for a way to give back? Legal Services of Northern Michigan (LSNM), with funding from the Zonta Club of Traverse City, is bringing back its free monthly family law clinic to the Traverse Area District Library!

We're looking for volunteer attorneys to help provide counsel and advice on simple, uncontested family law matters. The clinic will be held on the third Wednesday of each month from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Woodmere Branch of the Library.

Our first session is this Wednesday, August 20th!

Can't make it this week? We also need volunteers for these upcoming dates:

September 17
October 15
November 19

Your commitment is limited to the clinic—there is no expectation for full pro-bono representation. Zoom appearance for volunteers can be arranged. If you are interested in volunteering, please let us know!

Ballots are due by noon on Wednesday, May 14, 2025. Results will be announced at the Spring Dinner and will also be posted to our social media and website.
