In every classroom, educators hold the power to shape how students understand history, culture, and identity. When we teach the story, we center humanity, complexity, and truth. When we teach the stereotype, we flatten the narrative and limit understanding.

Through inquiry, curiosity, and courage, we can move beyond surface-level lessons to uncover voices, contexts, and experiences that make history—and learning—come alive.

At Sankofa Educational Consulting LLC, my mission is to help educators do just that: to go back, reclaim what’s been overlooked, and design instruction that empowers every student to think critically and compassionately.

When I first launched Sankofa Educational Consulting, my mission was clear: to empower educators, learners, and communities by connecting history, culture, and creativity. Over time, my work has expanded—speaking on national stages, leading trainings, moderating panels, and even bringing joy through entertainment and cultural programming.
It became clear that my website needed to reflect not just what I do—but the full spirit of how I serve.
