Memorial Day starts with memory.
Memory of the fallen, known and unknown.
Memory of the ones who gave and lost all.
Memory of the empty chairs at dinner tables.
Memory of letters never answered and futures never lived.
This weekend, we honor their courage, their sacrifice, and the families who carry that weight every day. May we never forget that freedom was paid for by names, lives, and stories.
