9 MILES OF NEW TRAILS. TRINIDAD.

Join Fishers Peak State Park and Colorado Parks & Wildlife for a celebration and unveiling of our newest trails at the park. We'll have events for all ages.

Hike or bike on your own or participate in an untimed Poker Hike and Bike and other fun events with prizes!

9 miles of newly constructed trails will officially open on the 15th and we can't wait to share them with you. Park staff will be onsite to listen to your feedback and to share what's next to come as park development continues.

Official Fishers Peak State Park merchandize will also be available on-site to purchase.

A CPW Parks Pass or Keep Colorado Wild pass is required for park entry.

As we face very dry, windy conditions and the overwhelming sadness of families near us and far that have been consumed with fire and smoke- let’s all do our part together to help our communities and our first responders from any fire danger, -the safety of Las Animas county together is our highest priority. Please be advised that Fire Restrictions are strictly in effect for Las Animas County.

🚫 Prohibited Activities
NO Fireworks: The use of any and all fireworks is strictly prohibited.

NO Outdoor Burning: All outdoor burning is banned until further notice.

Enforcement & Reporting

Strict Enforcement: Las Animas County will be actively issuing tickets for any fireworks use or illegal burning. Please think not just of yourself- think about everyone else.

Be a hero.

Stay Vigilant: Please stay aware of your surroundings.

Emergency Reporting: Call 911 immediately to report any fire, smoke, or other emergency situations, do not first report to Facebook or Social media. Call 911.

Love needed.

Join us to help remove invasive weeds from the trailhead and the beginning sections of trails! Tools and gloves will be provided, but if you would like to bring your own, please do.

Make sure to bring water and comfortable clothing -- long sleeves and closed toe shoes are recommended. We will be pulling Thistle, Mullein, and Tribulus terrestris (goatheads).

Meet at the park trailhead on the frontage road south of I-25 exit 11 at 8AM on June 30th.

Park pass fees are waived for volunteers.
