Rural Colorado is building some pretty remarkable things. Come see for yourself.

On Tuesday, August 25th, Southern Colorado Startup Week comes to Fremont County, and Emergent Campus is excited to host a full day in Florence.

We’ll start the morning by Breaking Rural Stereotypes, with conversations about what innovation, entrepreneurship, and frontier technology really look like outside the Front Range - including advanced satellite technology and some of the companies building the future right here in Southern Colorado.

Throughout the day, you’ll have a chance to:

• Meet founders and see projects firsthand during our Startup Showcase + Emergent Campus tours
• Join an OEDIT and Office of Supplier Diversity business workshop
• Take part in a Community Hackathon Workshop + NatureChase Main Street Adventure
• Explore Emergent Campus and the people, companies, and ideas growing here
• Wrap up the day together at the Observer Ranch After Party

If you’ve ever wondered what rural innovation actually looks like, this is a good day to find out.

August 25th - come join us in Florence and experience firsthand the amazing projects, founders, and ideas emerging from rural Colorado.

And don’t stop there. Southern Colorado Startup Week runs August 24-28, with five days of entrepreneurship, technology, community, and connection across the region.

Space is limited, so register early.

Building youth leadership and exposure to careers in the outdoor industry was the focal point of the Teen Career Day organised by the Purgatory Watershed Partnership and Trinidad Trails Alliance. Great turn out for the entire area!

Had the chance to get my photo with Carlos Lopez, owner of Fishers Peck, who went to school in the Park Street School building. Love when we run into these OG’s!!!

Ag Tech Expo - Las Animas County Fair!
Agriculture is the backbone of Las Animas County and the technological advancements to the age old practices is the future. Last week, Emergent Campus and Ccubed, together with a grant from the El Pomar Foundation brought twelves new ag tech businesses to demonstrate and provide interaction with their products. From autonomous nano tractors at BoPA, to drones that help with fire mitigation and targeted seeding, to digital herd management, radio frequency ear tags that work regardless of internet connection, virtual fencing, hydraulic trailers and equipment for custom feed rations these ag tech business are providing new solutions and perhaps keep the younger generations involved in agriculture.
VR goggles, hands on experiences with robots and an engaging escape room provided lots of fun for kids!🤩
