Hello - You may have seen that earlier this month CDOT, in partnership with the Colorado State Patrol, the Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control, and the Colorado Motor Carriers Association, recently launched a new summer driving safety campaign: Drive Safe Colorado Summer.

Modeled after the Winter Wise campaign, we are focusing heavily on summer messages because, as we know, this summer is different. Due to statewide drought conditions and minimal winter snowpack, our collective outreach is more critical than ever to keep motorists informed, prepared, and safe on Colorado roads. We cannot do this alone. We are asking for your help in amplifying these vital safety messages across the state.

Partner Toolkit - to make sharing as easy as possible, we developed a comprehensive toolkit to help amplify:
Social Media Kit: Ready-to-use, pre-drafted social media messages paired with graphics.
Co-Brandable Checklists: Pre-trip vehicle and safety checklists, featuring dedicated space for you to add your own organization's logo.
Drive Safe Colorado Summer/Summer Driving page - You can find all of these assets, along with public-facing safety resources, on our official campaign page: codot.gov/travel/summerdriving. The website also includes pre-drafted messaging blocks that you can easily copy and paste into your upcoming public newsletters, website updates, or community emails.

At about 1414 on 13 May 2026, Fishers Peak Fire Dept received a call for smoke & flames visible in the area of Fisher's Peak Parkway and Gallinas Parkway on the Santa Fe Trail Ranches. Upon arrival of responding units, a fallen tree was observed to be smoking with minimal flames showing.
