š» Keeping Bears Out of Our Trash Is Our Responsibility.!!!!
If we live in bear country, which we do, itās our responsibility to make sure our trash doesnāt become an easy food source for bears and other wildlife.
One of the most effective ways to prevent animals from getting into our garbage is simple: keep food waste and food-contaminated packaging out of the trash until garbage day.
Freeze or refrigerate food scraps and packagingāespecially meat packaging, bones, and anything with a strong food smellāuntil youāre ready to put the trash out for pickup.
If thereās no food or enticing food smell in your garbage can, thereās much less reason for bears and other animals to investigate it in the first place.
š¾ Donāt blame the bear for following its nose. Prevent the attractant.
