From fresh orchard fruits and homemade preserves to hard c***rs, w**es, and delicious apple c***r donuts, Green Sun Orchard & Cidery brings a little bit of everything from their orchard to the farmers market!
1. What do you sell at the market, and what inspired you to start?
We sell a variety of tree fruit as well as some berries and grapes. We make hard c***rs and w**es from our fruit which we also sell at the market. In addition we have “orchard products “ which are made from our fruit. These include fruit butters, jams, applesauce, apple c***r syrup and apple c***r vinegar. We also sell a few varieties of granola as well as Dutch donuts and apple c***r donuts.
2. How did your journey as a farmer/maker/vendor begin?
We were inspired to start our business because there were already many apple trees and blueberries on the property when we bought it. We then planted many more! We started making hard c***r and w**es many years before we were licensed, testing it on family and friends. As a result, we were encouraged to start selling it.
3. What’s one item you’re most proud of or that customers love the most?
We are most proud of our applesauce. We seem to have gotten the right combination of apples and there is no sugar added to it.
4. What do you love most about being part of our farmers market?
We love the market for meeting and connecting with customers and vendors. We have met so many wonderful people and have made many new friends.
5. What’s something people might be surprised to learn about you or your business?
We had no prior experience with customer service or product development.
