What a fruitful time the five of us had getting to know one another at last Friday’s Speed Networking event at 𝗟𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗲 in Mt. Clemens!

As we spent time together, each person shared a specific area where they were experiencing challenges—both personally and professionally. Rather than simply offering advice, we encouraged and challenged one another to 𝗽𝘂𝗿𝘀𝘂𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁, 𝘀𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝗚𝗼𝗱’𝘀 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘁𝗵, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗲𝘁 𝗴𝗼 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗶𝘁.

We also shared areas where we’re seeking support within our organizations. Together, we exchanged ideas, strategies, resources, and warm introductions that could help open doors and strengthen one another’s efforts.

There’s something powerful about gathering with an intimate group of Christian businesswomen who can talk about 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲, 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀, 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗵—all while being aligned with Jesus. ❤️

I especially loved hearing several women share that they almost didn’t come today, but felt that little pull to follow through and 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘂𝗽 𝗮𝗻𝘆𝘄𝗮𝘆. And what a blessing it was that they did!

Our conversations were rich and real. We talked about the challenges we’re facing, how we’re being stretched, and what it looks like to overcome—not in our own strength, but 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁.

Our Christian business devotional centered around 𝟭 𝗦𝗮𝗺𝘂𝗲𝗹 𝟮𝟰, where David had the opportunity to kill Saul, his enemy. Instead, David’s conscience convicted him, and he chose not to retaliate.

𝗥𝗲𝗳𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻

This morning Christians in business gathered together @𝗕𝗶𝗴𝗴𝗯𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗲 in 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲.

During our time together, members shared with the group what their focus is on their business to close out the month of August strong and how we can come along side them to support their efforts, while holding them up in prayer.

We then devoted time to discuss the storyline of Jonah and his disobedience to the Lord telling him to go to the city of Ninevah.

Have you ever made a decision you knew wasn't right, missed an opportunity God placed in front of you, or taken a wrong turn in your business or career?

The good news is this: God is a God of second chances. Jonah is one of the clearest examples. Not only did God give him a second chance, but God also changed his mind and decided show mercy on the entire city of Ninevah when they turned from their evil ways.

One person's obedience became part of something much bigger than that person. The same can be true in business. Your obedience may affect your employees, customers, family, community, or future generations in ways you cannot yet see.

This past Wednesday morning at our 𝗜𝗺𝗹𝗮𝘆 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 chapter through 𝗠𝘆 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗡𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸, the conversations were so rich that our small group spent the first half of the meeting standing in a circle—sharing, encouraging one another, and going so deep in discussion that our feet finally reminded us it was time to grab a seat! 😊

We were also blessed to hear from our featured 10-minute speaker, 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗗𝘂𝗻𝗵𝗮𝗺, who shared how God gently led him beyond the comfort of his introverted personality so He could expand his Kingdom impact.

Ironically, one of Cory's first steps of faith was earning his pilot's license... despite being afraid of heights. ✈️

That same willingness to trust God eventually led him into keynote speaking and today into executive coaching, where he helps business leaders align their company's vision and messaging so their teams and clients are moving in the same direction.

His story was a great reminder that God rarely calls us to stay comfortable. More often, He invites us to trust Him one obedient step at a time. The place we're most hesitant to go may be the very place where He wants to use us the most.

What a meaningful discussion we had this past Thursday morning at our New Baltimore meetup at 𝗕𝗶𝗴𝗴𝗯𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗲 through My Christian Business Network.

Christian business professionals gathered to encourage one another and wrestle with a question we've all faced: When is it tempting to tell a "𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝗲" instead of following God's way?

As we shared real-life examples from business and home, one funny thought kept coming to mind... 🎶 "𝗜 𝗖𝗮𝗻'𝘁 𝗚𝗼 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁 (𝗡𝗼 𝗖𝗮𝗻 𝗗𝗼)" 𝗯𝘆 𝗗𝗮𝗿𝘆𝗹 𝗛𝗮𝗹𝗹 & 𝗝𝗼𝗵𝗻 𝗢𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀. While the song wasn't written with this in mind, the chorus became a lighthearted reminder that, as followers of Christ, there are certain things we simply can't go for—including compromising our integrity.

Many in the group also shared the challenge of raising children who are learning that honesty isn't always the easiest choice, but it is always the right one. Our kids are watching how we respond when telling the truth may be uncomfortable.

𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗯𝘀 𝟭𝟮:𝟮𝟮 reminds us:
"The Lord detests lying lips, but He delights in people who are trustworthy."

May our words reflect Christ—not only in our businesses, but in our homes, our friendships, and every conversation we have.
