Join me this Sunday for a Pride Poetry workshop at Church of The Mountains, UMC 3:30-5 pm! Our themes are inclusiveness, identity, and joy!
Here's an excerpt from Ross Gay:
"...that joy is the moments — for me, the moments when my alienation from people — but not just people, from the whole thing — it goes away, and it shrinks. If it was a visual thing, like, everything becomes luminous. And I love that mycelium, or forest metaphor, that there’s this thing connecting us. And among the things of that thing connecting us is that we that have this common experience; many common experiences, but a really foundational one is that we are not here forever. And that — that’s a joining, a joy-ning." - Ross Gay

Join the Truckee Tahoe Community Chorus conducted by Brittney May for their spring concert, “Songs for the Journey” featuring music that reflects adventure, discovery, and the enduring pull of home. At the center of the program is Sir Edward Elgar’s delightful choral cycle “From the Bavarian Highlands” performed with the Diablo Valley Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Owen Lee. This work, inspired by Elgar’s and his wife’s holidays in the Bavarian Alps, captures scenes from their travels including lively village dances, peaceful mountain chapels, alpine hunts, and evenings spent in warm company. Come experience a variety of contemporary and classical music that celebrates the wonder of travel and the joy of returning home!

See you there !

Art thrives where community and creativity meet, and we’re grateful to be part of a place that celebrates both so beautifully.

Thank you to the Truckee Cultural District for helping nurture the vibrant arts and cultural landscape of Truckee and Trails and Vistas over the years. As one of California’s designated state cultural districts, their commitment to celebrating artists, history, and creative expression helps strengthen the entire community.

We also love the ways they bring our creative community together, including their upcoming Creatives Meetup on Wednesday, March 25. If you’re an artist, maker, or creative spirit in our region, it’s a wonderful opportunity to connect and share ideas.

We’re honored to be part of a region where art, nature, and culture intersect in such meaningful ways. 💚
