Last night, members conducted a vehicle extrication drill involving a commercial plow truck that had “experienced a complete hydraulic system failure.”

Crews were tasked with safely locating, stabilizing, and extricating a simulated patient from the vehicle while working through the challenges presented by the truck’s size, weight, and the disabled hydraulic system.

The drill provided valuable hands-on experience with stabilization, extrication techniques, tool placement, and patient care considerations when dealing with larger commercial vehicles. It was a great training opportunity for our members and another chance to sharpen the skills needed to respond safely and effectively when the call is real.

Shout out to Trumbull Public works for allowing us to use one of their spare plow trucks!

Yesterday, members of Trumbull Center, Long Hill, and Nichols Fire Departments joined together for the annual United Ride, honoring the 25th anniversary of September 11th.

We are proud to recognize Firefighters Jackson, Woytach, and Weston, who successfully completed the Company’s promotional examination today and have officially advanced from Probationary Firefighter to Firefighter.

This achievement marks an important milestone in their fire service careers and reflects the time, effort, training, and dedication they have put in throughout their probationary period. The Company’s promotional process provides members the opportunity to demonstrate the knowledge and skills they have developed as they prepare to take on greater responsibilities within the Company.

Please join us in congratulating Firefighters Jackson, Woytach, and Weston on this well-earned accomplishment. We look forward to watching them continue to learn, grow, and serve our Company and community.

Trumbull brings home brass and top two spots at the Bridgewater County Fair Firemen’s Parade last night!

L-104 took home Best Appearing Ladder Truck and our brothers in Nichols got Best Appearing Apparatus with E-305! Both parade committees worked tirelessly for days prior to this parade and it’s always a crowd favorite.

This year we also decided to bring along the 1937 Seagrave antique. This was the first judged parade it went through in its lifetime. While we didn’t win a trophy, we are still proud with how it looked and got many compliments on it!

Special thanks to Matthew Hurley of Specialty Land Services for providing a flatbed truck for transportation of our antique.
