One of the most common mistakes I see is organizations relying too heavily on grant funding. While grants can be a valuable revenue source, they should be just one piece of a larger funding strategy.

Many fund development professionals recommend that grants account for no more than 15% of an organization's total revenue whenever possible. Why? Because grant funding can be competitive, restricted, and subject to changing priorities.
