Why equipment cleaning matters — especially when multiple crews service the same lawn.
This is what builds up on equipment after a full day of treating lawns — grass clippings, seed heads, and debris from yard to yard.
Before starting each day, I clean my equipment to help prevent carrying w**d seeds or disease from one property to the next.
Here’s why this matters:
Some lawns are treated professionally but are mowed by outside crews that may service many different properties each day. If equipment isn’t cleaned between yards, w**d seeds can easily be carried into a lawn that was previously clean.
And when w**ds show up later, many people assume the treatment failed — when in reality, new w**d seeds were introduced after treatment.
Good lawn results depend on:
✔ Proper treatment
✔ Proper timing
✔ Clean equipment
✔ Good mowing practices
Most people never see this part of the job — but it’s one of the details that helps keep lawns looking their best.
Also want to give a shout out to Norris Lawncare. Bryan Norris goes above and beyond to make sure his equipment is always clean.
